The department would like to take a moment to thank Maryland State Police Superintendent Colonel Pallozzi and the many troopers who have been here on Main Street around the clock for the past 8 days. Approximately 40 troopers per day provided security and perimeter control supporting Howard County officers. They played a vital role in helping to keep Historic Ellicott City safe and secure. State Troopers and Howard County officers have been providing 24/7 security since Saturday evening. Additional security measures including the addition of fencing, boarding of buildings, and private security have all been completed to supplement the security presence of Howard County officers who will remain on site 24/7.

We would also like to thank the many law enforcement agencies who offered to provide assistance during the event. We are grateful to have such a caring law enforcement community in Maryland.
