We regret to inform you that on February 18, 2021 Retired Sergeant Robert B. Wright, 84, passed away.   The Maryland Troopers Association sends its deepest condolences to the Wright Family family at this difficult time. 

Retired Sergeant Wright was a United State Air Force Veteran and served the Maryland State Police until his retirement in 1985. He was known as highly competent and fair in his duties as a trooper. If you were lucky enough to be in his leave group, you were in good shape. He was respected by peers and adored by his community, where he spent countless hours volunteering.

Robert Bushey Wright, of Preston, passed away on February 18, 2021 at The Pines in Easton. He was 84 years old.

He was born on February 25, 1936 in Preston, Maryland, the son of the late William Edwin and Lillian Corkran Wright.

After graduating Preston High School, Bob joined the United States Air Force where he served for four years. He then completed the Maryland State Police academy where he eventually retired as Sergeant in July 1985. Bob was a member of the Idlewild Ruritan Club. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed bowling and playing softball.

Bob is survived by his wife Peggy, sons Mark (Melinda) and Greg (Kim), grandchildren Chad, Zachary, and Kasey, and three great grandchildren. He is also predeceased by two older brothers, Billy and Jimmy.

The family will tentatively receive guests at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, P.A. 200 S. Harrison St., Easton, MD 21601, on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 between 10 – 11 a.m. Burial will take place at Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Hurlock.
