Term Life Insurance
All members of the MTA automatically receive the following life insurance coverage.
Member
$45,000 of term life insurance coverage.
Member’s Spouse
$6,000 of term life insurance coverage
Member’s Dependent Children
(between the ages of 48 hours and 25 years)
$4,000 of term life insurance coverage.
This coverage is provided by “The Standard”.
NOTE
At age 70, members coverage is reduced to $4,000 for each member. Dependent spouse coverage cannot exceed 50% of member’s coverage which reduces the spouse's coverage to $2,000 when the member turns 70 years of age. All members are reminded to keep beneficiary and family information current. Coverage depends on current information being on file at the MTA office.
