The following information was obtained from the Department of Budget and Management Employee Benefits Division:
In response to the Court Order issued October 10th, prescription drug coverage for Medicare-eligible retirees and their dependents will extend beyond December 31, 2018. This means impacted retirees do not have to enroll in the Medicare Part D Plan for 2019 and may continue the coverage they have now into 2019 and at the same premium they are currently paying. Details will follow in a notice mailed to retirees’ homes. This change to prescription drug benefits has also caused a delay in open enrollment packets and information will be updated at 410-767-4775 in the near future. If you have questions about prescription drugs, please press 1.
