Below you will find the schedule for the first day, double elimination bracket for the second day, and a quick overview of highlighted rules.
Each year, the format and structure is determined by the number of teams and availability of fields on the second day. We have 20 teams entered into this years tournament. I have been able to make some arrangements on the second day that will minimize complaints that often arise. Here is a quick “overview” of the format:
Play begins on Day 1 at 0900. Each team will play 3 “pool” games and we will be done by 1600. Your team will play all 3 games on the same field so, if you want to set up tents, food, etc. you will be in the same area. We will take a short break around 1200. I have been told that Governor Hogan, again, is planning on making an appearance and we will work our break around his arrival
Day 2 play will begin at 0800. Each team will return and be guaranteed two games with all teams being in the same double elimination tournament. The earliest that a team would be knocked out of the tournament will be 1200. Example: if you lose at 0800, you do not play until 1100. In the past, we have had to start the double elimination portion on the first day. With those that sustained a loss, teams did not like coming back on day 2 for the possibility of just one game. So, over the two days, each team will get a minimum of 5 games.
The top four seeds in the double elimination will come from bracket one. This is based loosely off of last years results. The bracket winners from 2 through 5 will be a blind draw for the 5 though 8 seed. Second place in bracket 9 – 12, etc.
The championship game is scheduled for 1900 hours with the “IF” game at 2000, hence, we could be there until after 2100 hours
Let the complaints begin…..take a number and I will get to you shortly…….which means never……
First look at long range weather has sunny with highs around 87…….. HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL THERE!!!!!
