The MTA regrets to inform you of the death Joyce Cobb, beloved spouse of Retired TFC Carleton Cobb. The MTA sends its deepest condolences to the Cobb family at this difficult time.
The following obituary has been reprinted from Haight Funeral Home, Sykesville, Md.
Joyce Constance Cobb, 74, of Eldersburg, passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at Autumn Lake at Long View, Manchester, MD.
She was born on February 1, 1949, in Cambridge, MD to the late Richard Sterling Lewis, Jr. and Dorothy Lucille Trail Lewis. She was the wife of 59 years of Carleton David Cobb.
Joyce had worked as a security guard for several years working her way up from security guard to a Major overseeing the force with B. Green & Co, Inc. until her retirement. She served as a special police officer as well. She loved to crochet and garden. Joyce had over 47 varieties of rose bushes in her yard. She also loved country music and provided daycare to many nieces, nephews and her grandchildren. Joyce was a selfless person with a ‘Heart of Gold’.
Surviving in addition to her husband are daughter Melissa “Missy” Jean German and husband Randy, son Rodney David Cobb and wife Kate; brothers Michael Trail Lewis and Thomas Hicks Lewis and grandchildren Elizabeth Breanne Cobb and Zachary Ryan Cobb.
She was predeceased by sister Diana Mildred Krug.
