We regret to inform you of the death of Retired TFC. Gary Gruber on November 8, 2012.  Our thoughts and prayers are with the Gary’s friends and family at this difficult time.  The following obituary contains information on arrangements.  

 

Williamsport, Maryland- Gary Lee Gruber-66 of Williamsport, MD passed away on Thursday November 8, 2012 at his home.

Born in Williamsport on July 24, 1946, He was the son of the late Raymond Henry and Dorothy Irene Byers Gruber.

He was a 1964 graduate of Williamsport High School and attended Hagerstown Junior College.

Gary served in The US Army during Viet Nam.

He retired as a Trooper First Class from The Maryland State Police in 1992 and following retirement, he served for 7 years as a Deputy with The Washington County Register of Wills.

He was a member of Williamsport United Methodist Church.

Gary was a member of Medairy Lodge #140 AF&AM Williamsport, MD where he was Past Master, Scottish Rite 32nd Degree and The Ali Ghan Shrine both of Cumberland, MD, The MD Troopers Association, The Western MD Troopers Association, F.O.P. Thomas Pangborn Lodge #88 Hagerstown, MD, Conococheague Tribe#84 IORM and American Legion Potomac Post #202 both in Williamsport, MD

He is survived by his wife of 40 years Christy Jean Gruber, a daughter Jennifer Lee Gruber of Franklin, TN, a sister Sherry Jean Willetts of Hagerstown, MD and a nephew James Willetts and his family of Williamsport, MD.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday November 12, 2012 at 11am at Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD 21795 with Dr. James E. Swecker officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Williamsport, MD.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday November 11, 2012 from 6-8pm.  Masonic services will be held at 5:45pm on Sunday and for the convenience of family and friends, the funeral home will open Sunday at 1pm.
