We regret to inform you that on December 15th, 2020 Retired Sergeant Leo Drosdak passed away at the age of 88. – The Maryland Troopers Association sends its deepest condolences to the Drosdak Family at this difficult time.

Leo M. Drosdak, 88, of Lake Hauto entered into eternal rest Tuesday, December 15, 2020 in his residence. He was the husband of Lorraine (Kovich) Drosdak. They celebrated their 67th Wedding Anniversary on June 27th of this year. Born in Nesquehoning, he was a son of the late Leo and Mary (Pachuta) Drosdak. He was a United States Marine Corps Veteran serving during the Korean War. He was a graduate of Nesquehoning High School, Class of 1950. He was employed by the Metropolitan Police Force in Washington D.C for 5 years and then went on to become a 1st Sergeant in the Maryland State Police for 26 years. Upon retirement, he worked with fellow retired state trooper Ray Kamauf as a traffic safety consultant for many companies. He was a member of St. Richard Catholic Church, Barnesville. He enjoyed coaching youth football and little league. Leo was an avid outdoorsman with a great love for fishing and hunting.      

Surviving along with his wife are sons Leo Jr. of Edgewater, MD and Lee David and his wife Kelly of Fredrick, MD; brothers James and his wife Susan of Rockville, MD and Joseph and his wife Joanne of Nesquehoning; grandchildren Dr. Alyssa of Cleveland, OH and Adam of Baltimore, MD; and many nieces and nephews.
