We regret to inform you of the death of Retired Sergeant and current Transportation Inspector Elmoses Harvey, Jr. (age 59) on Monday, September 21, 2015. Elmoses Harvey Jr. lovingly known as “Moses” and “June” passed away on Monday, September 21, 2015 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Maryland. He was born in New Church, VA on November 10, 1955 to the late Elmoses Sr. and Mabel Harvey.
On August, 15, 1981, he was joined in holy matrimony to Barbara Jean Cannon. Their union was blessed with two lovely daughters, Angela and Shanita Harvey. He was excellent provider and loving husband and father.
Elmoses graduated from Pocomoke High School in 1974. He attended Salisbury State University for one year. He served four years in the United States Marine Corp with an honorable discharge. After leaving the service, he worked at Peninsula Press for several years. Elmoses entered the Maryland State Police Academy on January 18, 1982. He proudly served total time of 32 years and 5 months with the Maryland State Police.
Elmoses joined St. James United Methodist Church in Pocomoke City, MD at an early age. He was the Vice President of the Trustee Board, a member of the United Methodist Men, Men’s Choir, SPPRC Committee, and Capital Campaign Committee. Elmoses was a faithful worker and whatever needed to be done you could count on him.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 34 years Barbara Harvey, two daughters Angela Harvey of Laurel, MD and Shanita Harvey of Delmar, MD; two sisters, Phyllis (Weldon) Timmons and Vanessa Harvey; three brothers, Norman (Veronica) Crawley and Edwin Harvey of Pocomoke City, MD and Ricky Harvey of Princess Anne, MD; two sister-in-law, Hattie Crawley of Withams, VA and June (Michael) Bond of Houston, TX; one uncle, Williams (Rosalee) Harvey of Portsmouth, VA and a host of nieces, nephews, numerous relatives and friends. He also leaves special memories with his fishing buddies and “the Shade Tree Gang.”
He preceded in death by his brother, Frederick Crawley Sr.; his sister-in-law, Doris Harvey and several aunts and uncles.
