It is with deep sorrow that I inform you of the death of Retired Sergeant John H. Davis, K-9 Trooper and Medevac Helicopter Pilot. He passed away from complications related to COPD/Pneumonia on June 29th at the Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. He served in the US Marine Corp. prior to joining the MSP, retired from the MSP and also retired as a Warrant Officer 2 Helicopter Pilot from the MD Army National Guard. He was my Uncle and the Great Uncle of my Sons, Sgt. David J. Sexton and C. Todd Sexton, both of MSP CID. He was our inspiration to join the Maryland State Police and continued to encourage and support our efforts until his death. He will be sorely missed.
His viewing will be held at the McComas Funeral home, 1317 Cokesbury Rd., Abingdon, MD 21009, 410-676-4600, on July 5, 2013. Viewings are scheduled 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. The funeral service will be held on July 6th at the funeral home or at Trinity Lutheran Church on Rt. 7 in Joppa, MD 21085. Two burials are taking place at the church on Saturday so the time and place of the funeral have not been set. Internment will be at Trinity Lutheran Church. I will keep you posted as information is developed.
Regards,
Retired 1/Lt. David L. Sexton
