Obituary for Mr. Frederick J. Morton
 
Frederick J. Morton of Queenstown, MD, died at his home on Monday, August 21, 2017. He was 67. 
 
Born June 7, 1950 in Cumberland, MD, he was the son of the late Fred and Betty Jenkins Morton. Mr. Morton grew up in Frostburg, MD. He attended the University of Maryland College Park, graduating in 1972 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Upon graduation, Mr. Morton enrolled in the Maryland State Police Academy, and he began his career in law enforcement, from which he retired at the rank of Sergeant after 25 years of service. Mr. Morton was a member of the Sons of the American Legion at the Jeff Davis Post 18 in Centreville, MD. Fred made a friend of everyone he met. His quick wit and endless supply of humor made a person feel welcome immediately. 
 
He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy; his son and daughter in-law, Jason and Emily Morton; and best friend of 60 years, William Payne (Denise). 
 
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 26 at the Jetty Dock Bar from 10:30 am – 12:30 pm.
