Sandra Pauline Carroll

PARSONSBURG—Sandra Pauline Carroll, 66, of Parsonsburg passed peacefully to sleep until Jesus comes, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, March 29, 2013, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late John Godfrey Lofgren and Marjorie Joan Milton Lofgren. Sandy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, mother-in-law and friend, and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Sandy was an active member of Park Seventh Day Adventist Church in Salisbury. She loved the Lord with all of her heart and soul. She served as a deaconess and as the card and flower coordinator. She enjoyed sending cards to church members and friends to lift their spirits in time of need or health struggles. Sandy and her husband, David, also had a ministry of visiting people. She had a genuine love for people and always offered words of encouragement to those in need. She was employed by the Maryland State Police in Salisbury as a dispatcher and an office secretary II, and retired in 2004 with 35 years of service. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, watching the many types of wildlife landing in the lake in her backyard, traveling and spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed spending long hours with her grandson, Noah. She so looked forward to every minute that she got to spend with him.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 41 years, David Hugh Carroll; a daughter, Heather Leigh Jackson and her husband, Sean, of Delmar, Del.; a grandson, Noah Sean Jackson; a brother, John Dana Lofgren and his wife, Christine, of Delmar, Md.; and several nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to extend its heartfelt thanks for the excellent care she received from the ICU staff at Peninsula Regional Medical Center and support from her family, church and friends during Sandy’s illness.

A celebration of life service will be held Tuesday, April 2, at 11 a.m. at the Park Seventh Day Adventist Church in Salisbury, where family and friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at 1 p.m. in the chapel at the Eastern Shore of Maryland Veterans Cemetery near Hurlock with Pastor Kenneth O. Scheller officiating.

Contributions may be made in her memory to Park Seventh Day Adventist Church, 31525 John Deer Drive, Salisbury, Md. 21804.
