James S. Taylor, 83 of Cecilton passed away on March 30, 2015 in Genesis Health Care-Elkton Center.
 
Mr. Taylor was born on May 5, 1931, son of the late William and Anna Matthews Taylor. He was a lifetime resident of Cecilton where he graduated from Cecilton High School. Jim served in the U.S. Air Force for 4 years. He was a Maryland State Policeman from 1960 to 1981, worked as a courier for a local bank, and the Cecil Whig and as a security guard for Thiokol. Jim was a member of Chesapeake City Masonic Lodge and the FOP. He loved playing the guitar and Blue Grass music.
 
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Zimmerman Taylor in 1977; 2 brothers, William Taylor and John Nelson Taylor and a sister Ellen Johnson. 
 
He is survived by his daughter, Kim Taylor and her husband Fred Affeldt, III of Pasadena, MD, 2 sisters, Anna Mary Brice of Hacks Point and Clara Burt of LaVerne, CA. and his companion of 8 years, Diane Powell of Galena, MD.
 
A viewing will be held on Saturday, April 4 from 10 to 11 am in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD, where funeral service will begin at 11 am. Burial in Zion Cemetery, Cecilton, MD.
