Thomas Stanley Bosley, 78, of Mt. Airy, passed away Friday, Nov. 22, 2013 at the Laurel Regional Hospital.  Born Dec. 9, 1934 in Westminster, he was the son of the late Stanley Preston Bosley and Helen Marie Hyde Bosley.  Survived by his loving wife of 54 years, M. Laverne Bosley. 
 
Tom served in the U.S. Army as an MP finding his calling in law enforcement.  He was a lifelong resident of Carroll County where he worked as a Maryland State Police officer protecting and serving for 34 years, during which time he was also a volunteer fireman for the Reese Volunteer Fire Department.   
 
He enjoyed football, baseball, basketball, ping pong but his favorite past time was golf. 
 
He enjoyed spending time with his family and watching his great-grandson play soccer.  He was a lifetime member of the Izaak Walton Gun Club in Mt. Airy and the NRA.  He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and was a wonderful cook. 
 
Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Melody and Sam Schell, granddaughters Harmony Mason and Brianna Schell, great-grandson Caymen Mason; all of New Windsor; a brother and sister-in-law Robert and Frances Bosley of Union Bridge; life-long friends Teddy Webb and Bob Lach of Mt. Airy.  Also survived by many nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, 2 little friends Gracie and Stella. 
 
He was predeceased by his brother James Bosley and Poodle Tooey. 
 
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster. 
 
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 12704 Wolfsville Rd., Smithsburg, with Rev. David Howell officiating.  Interment in St. Mark’s Lutheran Church Cemetery. 
 
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to St. Marks’s Lutheran Church.
