Olive Parks Somers, 89, of Princess Anne, died Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at Aurora Senior Living.
 
Born in Crisfield April 16, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Lewis Perry Parks and Frances Elizabeth Murphy Parks. She had been making her home in Princess Anne since 1957.
 
She was a homemaker and retired from the Somerset County Library System.
 
She was a member of Antioch United Methodist Church and was a former member of Manokin Chapter O.E.S., Daughters of America-Smith Island Chapter, and Princess Anne BPW.
 
She is survived by her devoted husband of 69 years, John R. Somers; children, John R. Somers, Jr. and wife Mary E. “Libby” of Crisfield, Arthur Lewis Somers and wife Patsy of Fruitland, and Michael Dean Somers of Dover; grandchildren, Elizabeth Susan “Liza” Somers Wooster and husband Kevin of Marion Station, John Daniel Somers and wife Amy of Crisfield, Stephanie Somers of Salisbury, Brad Pollitt and fiance Lou Ann Justice of Salisbury, Rhiannon Somers of Berlin, Deanna Somers of Dover, Erica Somers of Berlin, and Evan Somers of Dover; two great-grandsons, Phillip Brooks Wooster of Marion and Levi John Somers of Crisfield; nieces and nephews, Wanda Milbourne and husband Alison, Asbury Parks, Fay Mills, and Lois Riggin; and several other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
 
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers, Cornelia “Neely” Williams, Allen Parks, Ralph Parks, and Frances Susnowitz; and her nephews and niece, Billy Somers, Mike Susnowitz, Jr., and Dorothy Bozman.
 
Funeral services officiated by the Rev. Mark Thomas will be held Friday, February 20, 2015 at 11 AM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where a viewing will be Thursday evening from 7-9. Interment will be in Beechwood Cemetery in Princess Anne.
 
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association-Greater Maryland Chapter, 1850 York Rd., Ste. D, Timonium, MD 21093.
