Sgt. Kevin Desmond. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Desmond family at

Harold Vincent Desmond, Jr., 78, of Westminster, MD, died October 3, 2011 at
home.
Born October 17, 1932 in Queens, NY, he was the son of the late Harold
Vincent Desmond, Sr. and Emeline Devlin Desmond. He was the husband of Mary
C. Stenger Desmond whom he married on October 15, 1955.
He served in the Navy during the Korean War. He was an auditor for Reliance
Insurance Company. He was a volunteer fireman for 16 years at the Wantagh
Fire Department in NY where he served as captain. He belonged to the St.
Vincent DePaul Society at St. John Roman Catholic Church, the League of MD
Horseman’s Club, and the Optimist Club of Gamber-Smallwood. He loved riding
horses, spending time w/family and friends, and was very proud of his Irish
Heritage.
Surviving besides his wife are children and spouses Jeanne M. and Michael
Tighe of Sykesville, Patricia A. and Philip Nusbaum of Fayetteville, NC,
Kathleen M. Desmond and Fiancee Mark Livesay of Westminster, Timothy Desmond
of Hampstead, and Kevin P. and Amy Desmond of Elkton, brother Richard
Desmond of Miami, FL, and 9 grandchildren, Kristin, Lindsey, Michael,
Christopher, T. J., Ryan, Maggie, Erin and Emma, and numerous nieces and
nephews.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-8 and Thursday from 2-4
and 6-8 at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday St. John
Roman Catholic Church, 43 Monroe St., Westminster with Fr. Lou Bianco
officiating.
